I think one of the reasons I don't blog nearly as much as I used to is I've lost a bit of ego over the last couple years (just a bit). I don't know enough about any particular subject to feel comfortable offering my highly opinionated opinion about something.
I say this because I'm reading lousy blog entries on subjects some authors probably have no business talking about.
I'll blog more when I learn more, or when I start feeling really conceited again :).
